Futsal and Indoor Training
Winter Training Program
Winter indoor training is an important component of the Skyline Elite player development program. The opportunity to play during the winter months maintains development continuity. The unique demands of the indoor soccer environment challenges players to develop a more complete skill set. Due to the tight spaces, indoor play helps players sharpen technical skills while increasing speed of play and decision-making.

Off-Season Winter Training
Skyline Elite teams will continue to train over the winter months. While the frequency of traditional team training will reduce during this time frame and time off will be planned to allow players to recover from the fall season and enjoy the holidays, training will continue and teams will meet as their league schedule dictates. Many teams will have competitive matches in the January and February time frame and training will be necessary to maintain player fitness and team cohesion.
In addition, Skyline Elite players will have access to the SOCA Field House during this time frame. Functional, technical and fitness training will feature largely during these months and will supplement Skyline Elite team training. Skyline Elite staff will be intentional and deliberate in managing players and teams’ work loads during the winter season.

Futsal
Participation in the SOCA Winter Indoor Soccer League (WISL) futsal program is included in all Skyline Elite Player fees. The WISL futsal league operates for approximately seven weeks in January and February and takes place at the state-of-the-art SOCA Field House.
Skyline Elite staff will manage roster creation and team assignments. Teams will be assigned to divisions with intent to create competitive matches. Matches are typically played on weekend evenings, however Wednesday evenings will be utilized this season to avoid conflicts with outdoor match conflicts on specific weekends.
Futsal play provides development opportunity through a low-pressure, fast paced and skillful environment. Creativity and risk taking is encouraged, with an emphasis on foot skills and quick decision making.
